Back Again

Greetings and a belated, Happy Thanksgiving.
My generous spirit has given me permission to
postpone opening the virtual store until 2009. Many
reasons and even more excuses.
Feel free to ask here if there is anything that
you would like to order or question? All postings are
forwarded to my personal email. Comments are
forever invited. I will be posting again, hopefully
weekly at least.
Keep coming back. Big Sky Dreamer / aka beej

Plan A: on the road by Sunday. A friend said, "Be safe and make good choices." That is a loving suggestion. Hope to get over and beyond this stall on the stores going up. Perhaps the geographic will aid in this dilemma.
A vast amount of
wearable art and embellishment needs to be shown.
Aah ~ another opportunity for patience.
Vagabond Time has arrived.

If you are new to my blog, Please know
that I
am not the "big sky dreamer
looking for men in Montana".

What IS

Big Sky Dreamer has been doing "other" stuff.
Eager to snowbird and get back to the clutter in my
desert studio. So many ideas.
Still have some "set up technicalities", store wise, to work on.
For me, they are Work! Grateful to see those challenges
falling away.

Saturday Gratitude

Saturday evening! Worked with this beautiful camera that has entered
my space via Credit Card, seems like I'm not keeping it simple.
Talked with a talented, young woman today about assisting with the
"web" type stuff. Hurray ;>) Looks like relief is in sight! ~~ Of course,
Julie aka Alley-Grazer continues to be generous and supportive.
Thank You Everyone That Has Sent Kind Words via my email.
Please feel free to use the comment spaces on here.
Love to all ~~~ beej

Autumn

Fall in beautiful Montana. Temp is higher at night in Wickenburg, AZ, than in the daytime here.
Building these stores has been another opportunity for patience and tolerance. Expectations were unrealistic for my limited expertise in photography and virtual experience. I'm seeing progress tho. Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend. beej

Sioux Bear & Bison

The two focal pieces were purchased in Kalispell, MT years ago to use as components. Each had a tag, "Sioux", made of leather. ~~~ Bear necklace is embellished with yellow vintage seed on a bed of varied metal colored glass vintage beads. ~~~ Bison has a black bead base intertwined with linen fibers and a beautiful assortment of stones, glass, wood and metal.
(photos will be improved for publishing in the store) challenge!

Off Loom

Necklace and bracelets are samples of square stitch, off loom, wearable art. Dragonfly is a personal piece that I wear. All the foundation beads are Delicas, findings are sterling.
This type of creating is very time consuming and also my favorite to do. Detail is important, therefore only the highest quality material goes into each piece. The "thread" passes thru every bead at least 3 times, some, many more than 3. Bracelets made in this style will be available in numerous designs at my stores. . They are high end, love in every stitch, one of a kind, no exceptions. ʆ:-)
Making them feels like birthing art from my mind, hands and eyes. beej

Images

The magic of photography and virtual communication enables this blog to share Big Sky Dreamer's creations. Most important, my friend Julie's generosity, expertise, camera, Mac and home space are clearly making this come together.
Years of growing a friendship with Julie teaches me how to be a better friend by her example.

Thoughts

Counsel woven into the
fiber
of life is wisdom.
W. Benjamin
When giving a hand made gift ~
The gift is being given at least 3 times.
To the one receiving it, supporting the artist that made it, and the one giving it.
Love is an art, sketched & painted atop a canvas of mutual respect. Such a foundation allows only for the occasional brush stroke to cover a mixed message or misunderstanding. Anon

Couture , Haute

After a dance with a virus of some sort, I'm back in circulation again today.
Having read an article describing haute couture this is what I've learned: ***Couture - dressmaking, sewing or needlework. Haute - elegant or high, defining artistry in the creation of exclusive, custom fitting fashions, expert craftsmanship, high quality
fabric, extreme attention to detail and time consuming, hand executed techniques. Created from scratch for each customer.***
For a designer/artist "The magic of couture is in the details."
WOW! this is the best description of what I aim for each time I begin and complete a piece.. MONA

Soft Wool ~~ Eye Candy

~~Great day for creating small purses. Soft, soft wool yarn from Italy and a well used crochet hook, two are coming together. One is like berries gone wild with a bit of dew, the other is earthy. Also another, using wool yarn grown, dyed and spun in Montana, lovely colors. Made most of it's shell last night. Will continue with lining, closures, etc. another day. A perfect time to stitch just for you and eye candy fun for me. ~~smile!~~

Janet N#1

Happy Thursday ~ Creating a long, long, necklace to be worn as a lariat or clasped and swingy or wrapped to shorten and layer. An artisan piece that can also be worn as a belt or a many looped bracelet. What colors can you imagine it in? This one has beautiful open chain (to minimize weight), gemstones and faceted high quality beads. In the creating a few special pearls may wander in as well.
~~~It is my honor to have a treasured friend, Janet. You will see pieces with her name and numbered, this one will be Janet N (for necklace) ie: Janet N#1 ~~~
It is a good day! Please comment on colors, etc., questions. Your reply and feedback is extremely important to me. ~~~Big Sky Dreamer aims to deliver.
