Sioux Bear & Bison

The two focal pieces were purchased in Kalispell, MT years ago to use as components. Each had a tag, "Sioux", made of leather. ~~~ Bear necklace is embellished with yellow vintage seed on a bed of varied metal colored glass vintage beads. ~~~ Bison has a black bead base intertwined with linen fibers and a beautiful assortment of stones, glass, wood and metal.
(photos will be improved for publishing in the store) challenge!

Off Loom

Necklace and bracelets are samples of square stitch, off loom, wearable art. Dragonfly is a personal piece that I wear. All the foundation beads are Delicas, findings are sterling.
This type of creating is very time consuming and also my favorite to do. Detail is important, therefore only the highest quality material goes into each piece. The "thread" passes thru every bead at least 3 times, some, many more than 3. Bracelets made in this style will be available in numerous designs at my stores. . They are high end, love in every stitch, one of a kind, no exceptions. ʆ:-)
Making them feels like birthing art from my mind, hands and eyes. beej

Images

The magic of photography and virtual communication enables this blog to share Big Sky Dreamer's creations. Most important, my friend Julie's generosity, expertise, camera, Mac and home space are clearly making this come together.
Years of growing a friendship with Julie teaches me how to be a better friend by her example.

Thoughts

Counsel woven into the
fiber
of life is wisdom.
W. Benjamin
When giving a hand made gift ~
The gift is being given at least 3 times.
To the one receiving it, supporting the artist that made it, and the one giving it.
Love is an art, sketched & painted atop a canvas of mutual respect. Such a foundation allows only for the occasional brush stroke to cover a mixed message or misunderstanding. Anon

Couture , Haute

After a dance with a virus of some sort, I'm back in circulation again today.
Having read an article describing haute couture this is what I've learned: ***Couture - dressmaking, sewing or needlework. Haute - elegant or high, defining artistry in the creation of exclusive, custom fitting fashions, expert craftsmanship, high quality
fabric, extreme attention to detail and time consuming, hand executed techniques. Created from scratch for each customer.***
For a designer/artist "The magic of couture is in the details."
WOW! this is the best description of what I aim for each time I begin and complete a piece.. MONA
